So, here I will now give all the updates from the past week. On Friday we had Kingdom Night again, like every Friday. We did something special for Good Friday. We acquired candles and walked down the street toward our usual spot. On the way, we ran into a group of eight or ten guys with camp packs who joined us. They explained that they were learning what it was like to be homeless, so they could witness to the homeless. They had been give three dollars for the entire group for a month. They gave it away just before they met up with us.
During our service, we had communion. It was the best communion I've ever had, hotdog buns and Dr. Pepper. We sang worship songs and tons of people came to talk to us, and even joined us.
Two guys walked by and asked what was going on. They were muslims from Saudi Arabia. One of our Korean translators asked to pray a blessing over them before they started talking, and they agreed. She proceeded to pray in Korean for their hearts to be opened. After an hour of talking, they both became Christian!!!!!
Another experience, one both scary and awesome, a man walked up to us, and a pastor, Peter, from a church nearby started talking to him. All of a sudden, he started yelling at the pastor. Two of the students saw it and started praying. The guy got right into Peter's face and tried to punch him in the chest. His hand grazed his jacket and turned away. He tried three more times before punching a tree. I don't know what was said exactly, but Peter said it was obvious that the guy was demon possessed. As the guy walked away, Andrew, one of the staff members, said they should go after him, completely joking. A DTS student, Tyler, said they should, so Andrew, Tyler, and another person ran after him. When they caught up, they talked to him and prayed for him.
When we debriefed after, the two girls that were praying told us something awesome. They said they saw an angel standing in front of Peter while he was talking to the guy with a shield. Whenever he tried to hit Peter, he would hit the angel's shield instead.
Something awesome that happened to me, when we went to Ethiopia, I thought the point of me going to the YWAM base in Addis Ababa was that I could help set something up for outreach. That didn't happen.
I saw they two girls watching us at Kingdom Night, so I grabbed a friend to go talk to them. The two girls said they were happy we were doing Kingdom Night. One is going to India for three months, then they both are going to Nepal the month after for mission. The girl who is only going to Nepal told me she has a heart for working with Orphanages in Africa. I got really excited and told her to look at the YWAM Addis Ababa base, because they focus on orphans. And she said she'd come back this Friday to join us again.
God is faithful!! Thrilled that you are being used by God for His kingdom. I pray for you daily. Keep the fire of God going. Concordia is PROUD of you and prays for you and those lives you are touching Connor.
